In October 2009, Interscience Communications Limited acquired a fire research and testing laboratory at Gosport, Hampshire from QinetiQ, Cuthbert Chong previously Manager of the laboratory joined Interscience’s Director Steve Grayson and Laboratory Manager Suresh Kumar to facilitate a seamless transition. Interscience and QinetiQ continues to cooperate in fire research projects and to partner in broader based projects.

Interscience offers a comprehensive, fast, cost effective, fully UKAS accredited fire testing service. Our staff has offered such services for more than 30 years and work in BS, ISO, IEC, ASTM and CEN standards committees and are fully familiar with these standards, national and regional regulations and codes, and thus able to offer testing advice and product stewardship to our clients.

Expertise has been developed with specification committee representation, the use of a wide range of international standards and specialist analytical techniques in a fully equipped laboratory.

The test facilities based at Haslar, Gosport enable materials to be evaluated quickly for smoke, toxic gas production, flame spread, heat release and many other fire related parameters.

Interscience also offers in-house-research, testing and consultancy and management of multi-laboratory or international programmes that we carry out with our associates. We offer a high level of personal service as well as access to a unique network of the world's leading consultants and testing facilities.The Fire Laboratory in under the day-to-day management of Suresh Kumar ("Kumar") and the consultancy lead by Stephen Grayson provides an expansive and bespoke service to clients.
