Registration Options

Accompanying persons are always welcome at Interflam. July is a delightful month to discover and explore this historic part of England. Nottinghamshire and its rich heritage, market towns, castles and mansions are set among some of England’s finest countryside.

The city of Nottingham offers excellent shopping opportunities, museums and historic areas and has a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and bars.

For post- conference tours the region also offers beautiful rugged scenery in the Peak District National Park famed for its hiking and climbing which is just a 40 minute drive from the University.

Please note that all tours are do not include lunch or refreshments.
A minimum of 12 persons are required for the tours to proceed. If these modest numbers are not met then the tours will unfortunately have to be cancelled (fully refundable). Prices include all admissions to historic sites, a private tour guide and transportation. Refreshments and lunch are not included.
Each accompanying person must pay a registration fee of £20 + VAT

A half day guided tour of Nottingham taking in some of the city’s iconic landmarks. Visit Wollaton Hall, an Elizabethan mansion set an a 500 acres deer park, Holme Pierrepont, the National Watersports Centre plus other venues in and around the city of Nottingham. No visit to Nottingham would be complete without a trip to Nottingham Castle, former home to Robin Hood's arch enemy the Sheriff of Nottingham.

A visit to Princess Diana's childhood home and final resting place in the heart of the English Countryside

The first tour will take you to the family home of Princess Diana . A guided tour will be given of the majestic house including nineteen magnificent rooms as well as some of the Spencer Family’s private apartments, housing one of Europe’s finest private collections of furniture, pictures and ceramics. The award winning exhibition “Diana: A Celebration” will also be visited.
After lunch (available at own cost) a relaxing tour of the extensive estate grounds will be given, including the poignant Round Oval, which is just a short stroll from the house.
On the picturesque return journey, the coach will stop at the village of Whitwell where the tour can enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of freshly baked cake (own cost) whilst overlooking the charming waterfront.
If time is available, you can enjoy a boat cruise which is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the delightful surroundings and a chance to catch a glimpse of the Ospreys which nest around the waters edge.

A Visit to the Peak District and Chatsworth House http://www.chatsworth.org/
The coach will depart Nottingham on a picturesque journey to the small Derbyshire village of Matlock http://www.heightsofabraham.com/. Upon arrival the group will enjoy a short cable car ride to the top of the ridge where they will enjoy stunning views across the famous Peak District. Enjoy coffee and pastries at the “Heights of Abraham” café (at own cost) whilst taking in the breath taking views.

After descending the tour continues to one of the most historic country houses in England known as the “Palace of the Peaks”, Chatsworth House. A guided introductory tour will be given to the house focusing on some of the vivid characters who built and lived in Chatsworth, and also giving a fascinating overview to some of Chatsworth’s many riches. After lunch (at own cost) tour the extensive gardens to the estate which span 105 acres. Take in the principle historical features of the garden which anyone with an interest in gardening, landscape and history will enjoy. The guide will also inform you of other areas of the garden of which you can enjoy in your own time.

After a visit to the lavish shop to pick up any souvenirs, gourmet foods etc, the tour will make final stop (time permitting) in the delightful village of Bakewell where you can try the famous Bakewell tart to which the village is famous for.

City tour of Historic Lincoln

The final tour will take you to the historic city of Lincoln. Upon arrival you will visit one of the most prestigious pieces of architecture in the British Isles—Lincoln Cathedral in the North historic part of the city.
A brief tour will be given of the cathedral and its great history.
A short distance from the cathedral is Lincoln Castle which holds one of only four surviving copies of the Magna Carta, which is often thought to be a corner stone to modern liberty and the chief defence to injustice in England.
Following the tours the group will walk down the famous Steep Hill towards the city centre where the group will stop for window shopping at the small boutiques and unusual shops. Lincoln has a number of excellent pubs, cafes and restaurants for lunch.
The tour will end with enough time to catch evening flights.

SOCIAL FUNCTIONS 
As usual the social programme will be tailored to encourage out-of-session networking and interaction. A full programme of evening functions, both on and off campus will be organised to enable delegates to experience this culturally rich part of England.
Additional tickets for the social functions will be available to book on the main delegate registration form.
