THE VENUE

The award winning East Midlands Conference Centre is located just outside Nottingham City Centre on the University Park Campus. It provides modern, state of the art lecture theatres, spacious poster and exhibition areas and lecture rooms, comfortable bar, catering and lounge areas for networking and relaxing.

The city of Nottingham has a colourful history, from ancient underground caves and famous lace industry, to the turbulent and dramatic history of the castle with its links to monarchs and folklore tales. From the legend of the heroic outlaw Robin Hood to the adventurous Pilgrim Fathers and from the passionate verse of Lord Byron to the working-class heroes of DH Lawrence, Nottinghamshire has a proud cultural and literary history. It's vibrant, cosmopolitan city centre offers Interflam delegates a vast array of restaurants, entertainment and nightlife.

The East Midland Airport is just 15-20 minutes drive from Nottingham and offers direct flights to many of Europe's major cities including; Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Brussels, Dublin, Geneva, Milan, Paris, Rome and Vencie. . Airlines servicing the East Midland Airport include Ryanair, Easyjet and Bmi. Long-haul delegates may wish to route through mainland Europe and then connect directly into East Midlands thereby cutting out the journey through Heathrow and central London.
For domestic, European and international flights, Nottinghamshire is well served by a range of regional airports.

East Midlands Airport is just 14 miles from Nottingham and can be reached quickly by taxi or on the frequent Skylink bus service to the city centre. There is also a dedicated shuttle bus and Railink, which runs from the airport to the new East Midlands Parkway station every 30 minutes from 7am until 11.30pm seven days a week. The airport offers regular scheduled flights, serving many shorthaul and longhaul routes. To find out more click on the link below.

Robin Hood Airport is a major destination for flights from all over Europe and longhaul routes. With a runway 2.8km long it is the only airport outside London able to accommodate the new Airbus. Find out more by clicking on the link below.

Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester and Luton airports are also within driving distances of Nottinghamshire.

High speed (under 2 hours) rail links run from Nottingham to London, Birmingham, Manchester and the rest of the UK. When reaching Nottingham Station take the exit to Station Road for taxis.

The Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau is working in partnership with East Midlands Trains to offer Interflam delegates discounted rail tickets on selected routes. Return fairs London/Nottingham cost £30 for standard fares and £50 first class. Time of travel is restricted. (Tickets are not valid: Monday to Friday on East Midlands Mainline services scheduled to arrive in London before 1100hrs.
On all East Mainline services scheduled to depart London St Pancras between 1529hrs and 1901hrs.
On all East Midland Connect services departing before 0900hrs and between 1530hrs and 1900hrs Monday to Sunday.)

Eurostar
Paris to Nottingham in less than five hours.

The proximity of the motorway network of the M1, A1, A52 and A46 means Nottinghamshire is easily accessible by car or bus. Cities such as Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester are under two hours drive time from Nottinghamshire. While London, North England and Wales are just three hours by car.
